Environmental Remediation – Cicero, IL
RW Collins was contracted for the environmental remediation of a former gear manufacturing plant in Cicero, IL. The project took place in a 100 year old manufacturing & warehouse space, and the remediation spanned two months.
Multiple aspects of environmental remediation were completed, including contaminated soil and groundwater removal and excavation of a previously abandoned 15,000-gallon underground storage tank.
The site is now fully remediated and ready for a planned beneficial re-use.
Project Facts:
- Nearly 1,800 tons of contaminated soil were removed from the site
- 1,450 tons of CA-6 stone were used to backfill the excavated areas
- A 15,000 gallon underground oil tank was removed after previous abandonment
- This project was completed on schedule and safely without incident.
